Role Overview... 

The Instructional Design Intern position sits in the Learning & Performance team within Field Operations. This position will give the intern hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, providing an opportunity to create real content. As an intern, you will apply your skills in writing, Articulate Rise and other development applications to create engaging learning content.

Upon successful completion of the program, the intern will have practical skills in the fundamentals of Instructional Design, experience best practices within the industry, and an understanding of the importance this role plays within an organization. 

A day in the life... 

  • Participate in discovery meetings and help conduct interviews to confirm performance needs and translate those needs into concrete options for learning interventions.
  • Work with Sr. ID and business partners to define learning solution objectives to ensure the impact can be measured and is linked to business goals.
  • Participate in design session with Sr. ID, key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams.
  • Write concise, creative, and effective instruction. Deliverables could include design documents, storyboards, prototypes, instructor and participant materials.
  • Work directly with subject matter experts to capture project-specific knowledge.
  • Ensure that learning solutions incorporate best practices in adult learning theory.
  • Assist with design and development of curriculum level learning systems.
  • Ensure the final project deliverables are the highest quality.

What we are looking for... 

  •  A rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (or an Advanced Degree student) in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Instructional Technology or other relevant fields of study with a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Some experience using e-learning authoring tools desired
  • Must have completed foundational course on Instructional Design 
  • Must be a critical thinker 
  • Excellent communication skills
